Is homework a good idea or not? - CBBC Newsround.
Homework takes long hours, not minutes which after a day at school feel like a heavy burden. Students already are tired, sleepy, and tremendous homework tasks will only wearier each day and week and cause complete burnout.
One main reason, for kids not doing homework is because they want to be free. It is because of their sheer interest that they hesitate to do homework. As we grow, work seems to fall upon us even worse. If homework were to be banned, school time would be increased.
Lastly, homework can also lead to kids not establishing a solid childhood because of how many hours they spend doing their homework instead of playing outside and having a personal life. Homework in schools is unnecessary and should be taken away as it is not beneficial to education and is bad for kids and their well being.
Despite some cons, we still should admit the importance of homework in education. Self-education is a trend now and home tasks allow children to develop skills and approaches for their future professional and personal development. That is why we can say for sure that ignoring and banning homework completely is not a good idea.
I’m sure most, if not all students, have at least a few times (or more!) during school where they’ve handed in a homework assignment late, and so as not to get into trouble, given an excuse to their teacher as to why they couldn’t complete their homework on time. Be careful not to use the same excuse too many times, or your teacher may.
The not-so-good news is these benefits only occur when students are engaged and ready to learn. But, the more homework they get, the less they want to engage. THE NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF HOMEWORK ON STUDENTS. Homework can affect students’ health, social life and grades.
The value of homework has been the subject of debate over the years. In regards to research, the jury is still out as to whether homework positively impacts a student's academic achievement.
